The Safe Haven provides somewhere safe, friendly and warm for people of all ages to wait for a licensed taxi after a night out. It aims to make the city’s streets a safer place for all who head into the city centre to enjoy our restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs.
The Safe Haven acts as a place of safety providing care, advice and assistance for anyone who attends. Free hot drinks and water is available and visitors to the café will receive support to help them arrange to get home.
The BID has extended the current 8-day service, provided by Wolverhampton City Council by an additional 32 days per year, from 11 pm till 4 am. These extra dates will be provided on payday weekends and for events.
The Safe Haven not only reduces the pressure on local accident and emergency departments but also offers support to local licensed venues as well as assisting in the reduction of night-time anti-social behaviour in the city.
