A Clean Safe & Welcoming City Place Marketing & Events Accessibility Supporting business growth

Place Marketing & Events

The BID secures £885,450 for city marketing, promotions and events for the next 5 years.

Our commitment is to promote and shine a light on our City Centre through the following BID activities:

Full Events Programme

We deliver a programme of quality events throughout the year to attract footfall into the city centre including Enjoy Wolverhampton Live, Seaside in the City, Easter Trails and Christmas events with the family in mind. In our next 5 years we will be developing our events programme further to add a series of smaller, more frequent events in locations across the city centre boosting footfall throughout the year.

City Centre Gift Card

The Enjoy Wolverhampton Gift Card promotes over 100 businesses that accept the card, supports the ‘Be Proud, Be Vocal. Do More Shop Local’ message and keeps spend in the city.

Loyalty

We are investigating ways to deliver a customer and city employee loyalty scheme as well as the potential for a Christmas Savings scheme to support and retain spend in the city centre.

Enjoy Wolverhampton Live!

Held in June each year our Enjoy Wolverhampton Live! Attracts 15,000+ people to the city centre throughout this one day event.

The day brings family friendly entertainment live on stage in our city’s main Queen Square with free fun and CBBC star entertainment. Holding crowds in the evening, the live music concert has featured Scouting for Girls, Heather Small, Matt Cardle, Toploader, The Hoosiers, Graeme Park and Jo O'Meara to name but a few of the stars.

Promoting our City

We positively promote the city centre on a regional scale with regular, targeted campaigns and seasonal activities across a range of media. We will continue to produce high quality promotional videos that showcase our city in its true glory.

Website & Social Media

Reaching over 180,000 people for some of our individual event campaigns our Enjoy Wolverhampton facebook page and website provides your business with a large and wide reaching audience.

Christmas Trading Consensus

Giving a clear, simple message to all shoppers and potential visitors to the city is key. By working together we can achieve coordinated Christmas trading hours to assist with customer confidence.

WIRE Awards

Our independent businesses are fundamental to our city centre, giving it its uniqueness and character. Through the WIRE Awards (Wolverhampton Independent Retail Excellence) Awards we celebrate and support our independent traders and do this in partnership with the City Council.

“The BID initiated and delivered the City Centre Gift card, now accepted in over 130 retailers. This can only help encourage people to spend locally.”
