Healthcare Assistant / Carer - Smithridge Healthcare

This is a Healthcare Assistant job role for experienced carers, however training is available for people who are interested in starting a rewarding career in Healthcare.

Here at Smithridge, we provide flexible shift based work in a variety of care settings.

The shifts aren't in peoples own homes, they're in secure care home settings, meaning that you won't spend all day travelling. You'll go to one place, to do one long shift and then you'll go home.

We ensure you are not booked for shifts without your permission!

You will be asked to specify your availability that suits you with up to a week in advance, this helps you maintain a healthy/desirable work-life balance.

As previously stated training is available!

 - The training lasts 4 days (Monday to Thursday)

 - It will take place in person at our Wolverhampton building

 - The training will consist of Theory class, a practical class, a day dedicated for shadowing a member of staff at one of our care homes and finally an official test day.

Unlike other training programs, with us you are guaranteed consistent work after completion of training.

Salary is £9ph on weekdays and £10ph on weekends, however if you work a full 5 day week the salary will be £10.50ph upon completion.

The shifts are 12 hours long from 8am to 8pm days or if you prefer working nights 8pm to 8am.

Responsibilities

This role will involve attending care home settings to look after vulnerable people of an older age with needs such as Dementia. You'll be carrying out tasks such as Personal Care; washing, toileting and dressing, assistance with feeding and of course Manual Handling with a Hoist.
