Finalists have now been shortlisted for the Wolverhampton BID Excellence (BE) Awards, sponsored by Region Security Guarding.
Judges will now face a tough task in choosing the winners.
Organisers have been overwhelmed by the high standard of the award entries, which is in its inaugural year.
More than 1,700 individual nominations from the public were received for the People’s Favourite Business category.
The winners in all 12 categories will be announced on 13 July at a glittering awards night at Wolverhampton’s award-winning Grand Station.
The People’s Favourite Business category is voted for by the public. Voting is now open on the Enjoy Wolverhampton website. The finalists are Boots, New Look, K Teas, Eclipse Kickboxing, Sweet Memories.
Cherry Shine, Managing Director of Wolverhampton BID said: “We’ve been delighted by the response to the BE Awards. There were entries from all sizes of businesses, across all sectors.
It was incredibly difficult to shortlist the businesses, so all of the finalists should be immensely proud of reaching this stage.”
The finalists are made up of independent businesses and national chains.
All kinds of businesses are featured this year, from cafes and clothes shops to banks and recruitment and theatres, representing the diversity found in Wolverhampton city centre.
The charity partners on the night are The Haven Wolverhampton and Compton Care.
Cherry Shine said: “The BE Awards have been established to highlight the variety of and talent in our businesses.
The awards night promises to be a fabulous evening of live entertainment, networking and celebration. We can’t wait to announce the winners in July.”
The headline sponsor is Region Security Guarding. Sponsors also include West Midlands Metro, Thompson AVC, Play Support Partnership, and MRS Communications. MNA Digital is the media partner.
