Projects Manager commented: “We are very proud to support Macmillan with
city-centre businesses and visitors involved in fundraising for this great
charity and am bowled over by the generosity. The weather was against us being
a very wet and windy day but we still were able to raise £803.02 it was the 5th
Year we have held the event either Queen Square or Dudley Street”
Macmillan
Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning started in 1990 with a local
fundraising group who decided to hold a coffee morning where people came along
to meet and mingle, as they might normally do, but donate the cost of their
coffee and cakes to Macmillan. That seed of an idea has grown to become a
nationwide event that has raised over £200 million through coffee mornings in
homes, offices and businesses throughout the UK and Wolverhampton City Centre
businesses are keen to do their bit.
