How to set up a Facebook Page for your business

If you’re looking to get your business online and reach more people, then a great place to start is with Facebook...

First Things First...
For best results, set up your page using a mobile phone or tablet. You can also use a desktop or laptop computer. You will need your own personal Facebook account in order to create a Facebook Page for your business. You will need to know the email address it is connected to and the password for your personal Facebook page. (You will be asked to input these when setting up your account to ensure it is you) You will also need to be able to access that email address so please ensure you are aware of the password for that account. Facebook may also send you access codes to complete your setup.

So let's get to it.

• Open the Facebook app and login to your personal account if required. Touch the 3 bars in the menu at the bottom
• Choose ‘Pages’ from the menu
• Choose ‘Create’ from the top menu
• Choose the type of page you would like to create: You can choose various options to suit...

  • Local business or place
  • company
  • organisation
  • institution

TIP: You can use the Facebook tool to search for a category that best suits your business.

• Click “done” and then select “next”.

In the next few sections, you can enter your business information. Just follow the simple steps and click ‘done’ to proceed to the next screen. Add in your Profile picture that should always remain the same and not alter.

TIP: Try to upload an image of high quality.

The image ratio size of your profile photo should be 180 pixels wide by 180 pixels tall. Your cover photo image ratio size should be 828 pixels wide by 315 pixels tall. If you have the photo on your camera roll, you will need to allow Facebook access to your camera roll (it will ask you for permission).

When you are happy, click ‘Done’.

Lastly, once your page has been created, you need to get some likes. So you need to share it amongst your friends!

Go to your page & scroll along to find “Community”.
