Shop Appy gives our City Centre businesses a fabulous opportunity to be sure that whatever happens with local lockdowns you can always ‘buy local’ and support your high street.
Wolverhampton BID have committed to 12 months subscription to Shop Appy, making it free for shops and businesses in the city centre to join the online shopping platform for the next 12 months.
Launching on Saturday 24 October, ShopAppy.com provides a collective online shop window and ordering service for a range of shops, trades, B2B businesses, beauty salons, market stalls with bookings, click and collect, and the site can even host virtual events. The platform is supported by Visa as part of its #Whereyoushopmatters campaign. Once joined, businesses can quickly populate their own mini-site with goods and services on their city’s page and they are given assistance by the ShopAppy.com team every step of the way.
The effects of Coronavirus mean many of us are now shopping online with huge, global retail giants, rather than supporting our much-loved local shops. ShopAppy.com is providing a real, local alternative.
The Director of Wolverhampton BID, Cherry Shine says: “Our City Centre businesses have worked incredibly hard to adapt over the last challenging 6 months, Shop Appy gives them an extra layer of resilience. We are doing whatever is in our gift to support our city centre businesses and ShopAppy.com enables people to shop local and to continue to support our city centre high streets. We wanted to be sure to launch Shop Appy in Wolverhampton City Centre before Christmas and we look forward to the number of businesses on the site growing over the next few months”
Visit shopappy.com/wolverhampton/ to buy, browse and click and collect from a range of city centre businesses. The founder of ShopAppy.com, Dr Jackie Mulligan, says: “We are delighted to be working in Wolverhampton City Centre and partnering with Wolverhampton BID on the launch of ShopAppy.com here. It could not be a more critical time for businesses to work together and make it easier for locals to spend closer to home. And with growing restrictions and Christmas around the corner, buying from your local businesses via ShopAppy.com is a great way to offer support and good cheer to your city when your community most needs it – and to help ensure the businesses are still open in the New Year.”
