Wolverhampton BID is urging people to show their support and shop local for
Small Business Saturday on 5 December. This national day of action highlights
the success of small businesses and looks to maybe inspire others to set up on
their own. And, with shoppers now able to return to
non-essential shops under strict coronavirus social distancing
guidance, now is the time to get behind your local
shops.
Times
have never been tougher but we don’t need to remind you of that. If
every working adult in the city pledged to spend an extra £5 a week more
locally instead of with the major online retailers, it would boost the local
economy by £780,000.
There are different ways to shop these
days, and who would have thought a year ago we would be encouraging you to shop
online? Well now you can at Shop Appy Wolverhampton - 26
businesses have so far signed up.
You could also check out the almost 300
local businesses that have signed up to showcase
themselves online This platform
is being backed by a marketing campaign driving residents to the website and
encouraging them to support their local high street.
To end we couldn’t
forget that our Enjoy Wolverhampton City Centre Gift Card can also be spent in
many of the centres small businesses. To remind you of where you can buy and
who takes the card click here
