Keep the kids busy on the last weekend of the summer holidays at Wolverhampton’s FREE Seaside in the City event from Friday 30th August until Sunday 1st September. 10 am to 4 pm.

Queen Square will be transformed into the seaside with a huge city centre beach surrounded by deckchairs for all the family to enjoy. A giant deckchair provides the perfect photo opportunity.

Oh we do like to be beside the Seaside (in the City).
We have the giant beach open from 10am right through to 4pm. Get your child’s face painted for free and enjoy free Harry Jones Fun Fair rides! What more could you ask for? How about a chance to have your photo taken with our big cute teddy bear and bunny rabbit throughout the day!
For lovers of a traditional seaside fun fair, visitors can enjoy a go on Hook a Duck and Feed the Clown and try their luck to win a prize! Children and big kids will be entertained by Punch and Judy Shows and Circus Skills workshops running throughout the day on Queen Square. Little visitors can enjoy an array of free fun activities including a children’s games area that includes, snakes & ladders, OXO and Connect 4 to keep them entertained.
Signal 107‘s roadshow will be with us all day on Saturday with feel good summer tunes and the beach is open from 10am right through to 4pm. Free ice creams or candy floss for the first 400 lucky children! (whilst stock lasts)

Visiting the city by car is easy from whatever direction…..
Signposted from M54 junctions 1, 2 and 3 and from the M6 junction 10.

All roads lead to the city centre ring road where car parks are clearly signposted.
Parking is available across the city centre and with the city being so walkable you are never far from anywhere in Wolverhampton. Civic Centre car park is open until 11pm for the event – access is via Wulfruna Street ONLY WV1 1RQ
NCP Wulfrun Centre is open till 11pm for the event (WV13BA (Garrick Street)

Pedestrian access to the Wulfrun Centre car park is next to Argos on Cleveland Street.

Civic Centre car park – open till 11pm on Sat 3rd June -Overnight parking by prior arrangement ONLY
The event is a short walk from Wolverhampton Bus Station via Queen Street and Dudley Street or Lichfield Street to the event in Queen Square. A number of bus services are diverted due to road closures in place for the event. All buses will still be running although stops at Lichfield Street and Darlington Street will be redirected to Wolverhampton Bus Station.
The Metro terminates at Priestfield, however those that are travelling into Wolverhampton city centre are advised to get off at the Crescent to catch the 79 and 79E bus service into the city centre. All metro tickets are accepted on those services.
A 4 minute walk from Wolverhampton Train station via Lichfield Street or Queen Street and Dudley Street.
Cyclists will be able to access Darlington St to pass through the city centre and to access parking in and around the Civic. Cycle parking will be restricted in the event space and alternative cycle parking locations are shown on the Wolverhampton Cycle Map
Taxis (Black Cabs) are located at Taxi Ranks on Victoria Street (WV 1 3NP) (Close to House of Fraser) and Market Street (WV1 3AG) by Number One Pizza)
Late Night Safe Haven (WV1 3NP)
For a friendly and welcoming place to book a taxi, wait for a friend, get a soft drink or a pair of flip flops to make sure you have a great night out visit the Late Night Safe Have on the corner of Victoria Street (opposite House of Fraser) open from 11pm till 4am for after the Enjoy Wolverhampton Live event and on payday weekends throughout the year.
