City centre awards gets more than 500 nominations for People’s Favourite Business

The Wolverhampton BID Excellence Awards are receiving hundreds of public nominations for their favourite city centre businesses.

More than 500 individuals have put forward their choice for the People’s Favourite Business category.

The BID Excellence (BE) Awards’ deadline has now been extended to midnight on 3 May.

It’s the first year of the awards which is open to city centre businesses and has 12 categories.

Cherry Shine, Wolverhampton BID’s Managing Director, said “It’s been incredible to see the response so far and we’d like to thank everyone who has already nominated a business or entered a category.

“As awareness keeps building, and taking into consideration the Easter break, we want to give everyone more time to enter and really showcase what Wolverhampton has to offer.

“There isn’t a limit on how many categories you can enter, so if you’ve already submitted an application consider which others could be a good fit.”

Categories also include Marketing Campaign of the Year, Diversity and Inclusion, and Excellence in Professional Services.

Finalists will be announced at the end of May.

The People’s Favourite Businesses will be shortlisted to five and included in a radio campaign with Free Radio. Nominations will be carried over and will reopen for a public vote.

Cherry Shine said “If you would like to encourage your customers to nominate you, A5 promotional stands with QR codes direct to the web page are available from the BID.

Enjoy Wolverhampton City Centre Ambassadors are available to help you with entries for other categories.”
