Enjoy Wolverhampton BID Announce as City Centre Partner for Compton Cares Trail of the Dragons.

Enjoy Wolverhampton Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to be the City Centre Partner for Compton Cares’ Trail of the Dragons coming to our city centre streets in 2027.

The BID is funded and directed by over 400 city centre businesses and organisations. It delivers a range of services and initiatives to enhance Wolverhampton City centre, all with the aim of ensuring people enjoy Wolverhampton city centre whether its to trade from, live within or enjoy as a visitor.

Now, its certainly not every day in the BID you legitimately get to discuss Dragons as part of the working day, or maybe the BID team just don’t go to the right meetings, but what a huge opportunity for our city centre. To say that we are excited to play a part in the Trail of the Dragon’s is an understatement.

Everything the BID delivers sits across 3 key strands, A Welcoming City, An Exciting City and a Stronger City, what better way of delivering on all of these objectives than through a Trail of Dragons.

Trail of the Dragons will bring huge economic benefits to the city. Having delivered smaller scale trails with Dinosaurs, Safari Animals, Gingerbread People and Monsters. The BID has seen firsthand soaring visitor numbers, dwell times and of course increases in spend in our shops and eateries.

Seeing families explore the city centre together, the delight in children’s eyes as they spy the next character along the route, it’s a truly fabulous way to celebrate our city. We have seen the amazing traction and scale of Wild in Art trails in towns and cities, driving footfall, delivering real economic benefits and we’re excited to see the delight it will bring to Wolverhampton city centre.

Cherry Shine, BID Managing Director said “Not only will the Dragons breathe fire, and life into our city, they will inject a sense of fun, colour and intrigue to our city centre streets. They will strengthen civic pride, enhance community spirit, change perceptions and make magical memories.  All this whist delivering direct commercial benefits to our business community”.

Compton Care is an awe-inspiring organisation that the BID is always proud to work with. In the past our support has been as charity partner for our BID Excellence Business Awards, by driving footfall to Compton’s city centre shops and cafe and by raising awareness of the truly amazing work they do in our community. But nothing will beat the scale of opportunity that the Trail of the Dragons brings. We can’t thank Compton Care enough for this opportunity to be City Centre Partner and can’t wait to see the Trail of the Dragons come to life.

We urge all businesses to join us, to get involved in the Trail of the Dragons and to support Compton Care. Details of how you can get involved can be found at trailofthedragons.co.uk.
