What is a BID?

A Business Improvement District (BID) is an area in which businesses decide to make a collective contribution to providing improvements and services to enhance their trading environment.
BIDs charge a levy to businesses and in return they provide services and projects defined by businesses. All of the services provided by the BID are in addition to those services provided by Local Authorities and Police.BIDs can be a powerful tool for providing projects and services that businesses want to see delivered. They bring the business community to the forefront of positive change and improvements to their city environment. Wolverhampton BID is independent of the Council and is led by local businesses.
